Flying ants

Today the ants are swarming.

I did not notice the myriads of ants on the ground before I found one in my hair (I was in my local photoshop complaining about the blocks of pixel errors in my last nine photo-CDs). When I came outside I saw them all over the place.

Empire of the Ants

Needless to say, the weather today is hot, still and humid.

Roskilde Festival Photos in the Gallery

Now I have uploadet a load of Roskilde Festival photos to the gallery. I must apologise for the pixelerrors in several photos. It seems it roots from a technical problem at my local developer. I have already been there once to get the CDs redone, but in the next round I just got errors on another subset of photos...

Anyways, don't let pixel errors bring you down, here you have the Gallery with photos from Roskilde Festival!

Looking for accomodation in Nijmegen

I am searching for a place to stay in Nijmegen near the university in the period August 22nd to October 30th. Apparently the student housing is scarce in Nijmegen, and a room (kamer) can cost up to €400. I am looking for just a small room maybe 10-20 m2, with a monthly rent of 200-300 euros. I am willing to pay up to 400 euros if the quality and location of the room matches the price.

You can help me!
If you know of a place with a free room in the period August 22nd to October 30th, please drop me a mail, and I will be delighted.

How am I currently searching for a room?
I use the websites www.kamernet.nl , www.studentenkamers.nl and www.opkamers.nl . With a little help from Altavistas Babelfish I can translate the ads from Dutch to English. Do you know of more online services I can search? Please let me know.

Cheers,

-glyn

Photo Gallery now online

Thanks to Enhanced Simple PHP Gallery, my photoalbum is gradually returning to its online location. First I will fix the broken links to the old gallery from Brekurs 03 and Gjendesheim 04 and then I will add crisp new photos from Roskilde Festival, Middelgrunden and other recent locations!

Are you ready for the photo gallery? The photo gallery is ready for you!

Plan for next week

Next week, I'll go on a short trip with my family. First we will visit Givskud Zoo (we also talked about Skåne Djurpark, but my sister went there only a few weeks ago), then we will spend a day or two in Kullaberg Nationalpark rock climbing.

This picture is Katrine climbing on a trip to Kullaberg in 2003.

Old friends Unite!

At Roskilde Festival I bumped into Mathilde, a friend I haven't seen in years! Now I hope to see her before I go to the Netherlands this autumn. Yes, I am going to Nijmegen Universiteit for about 2½ months, leaving August 22nd. I'll keep you posted.

Today was the last day of my summer course in Computational Modelling of Biological Systems, excellent course. But it won't be entirely off my mind before I have finished the mandatory report. If you are interested, I have made a small model system of the calcium activation of the NFAT transcription factor. :o)

Tomorrow I will visit my friend Finn at Andebølle Højskole. I am really looking forward to this visit. I have not seen Finn for at least a year, and I have never visited Andebølle before.
